Do You Earnestly Want To Be Healed?

The Bible instructs us to be searched, tested, deal with double-mindedness, and get rid of the unconscious thoughts that lead to sin. God desires for us to be healed, transformed, and made whole.

John 5:6 He (Jesus) said to him, Do you want to become well? Are you in earnest about getting well?

Jesus asked an insightful question of the lame man. Until people earnestly desire to be healed, they will be content with the familiar mental, emotional, physical, sexual, and spiritual negative patterns.
The Challenge.

Many wounded Believers are being told to not deal with their past pain and to just pray harder. However, if the double-minded mental and emotional patterns aren't effectively dealt with, this can lead to deeper shame and confusion.

James 1: 6-8 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all he thinks, feels, and does.

Transformation.

Psalm 26:2 Test me, LORD, and try me, examine my heart and my mind…
Hebrews 12:1 Let us strip off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us…
Ezekiel 18:31-32 Cast away from you all your transgressions by which you have transgressed against me, and make you a new mind and heart, and a new spirit…for I take no pleasure in the death of a man who dies, says the Lord God.
Isaiah 61:1 He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and an opening of the eyes of the blind…
Ephesians 1:18 Open the eyes of my heart, Lord…
The Outcome.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
